Your information & your choices

Privacy policy

Effective and last updated: October 25, 2026

This policy explains how Women in Construction Lab LLC ("we," "us") handles information on womeninconstructionlab.com and start.womeninconstructionlab.com (also available at its Netlify address), including the bid finder, Certification Compass, signup pages and AI videos. Questions or privacy requests: hello@womeninconstructionlab.com.

Information we handle

  • Email signup: when you choose email updates, we send your first name, last name and email address to MailerLite, along with the resource interest selected by the form. MailerLite may record confirmation, signup and email engagement information.
  • Free resources without email updates: leave the optional email checkbox unchecked to open your resource without submitting your name or email to our signup service. Fields on that form are not sent when you continue without opting in.
  • Certification answers: questionnaire answers are processed in the page while you use it. They are not submitted to our server or MailerLite. A state selected before the quiz may appear in the URL and be kept in browser session storage.
  • Bid searches: we send the trade or NAICS code and optional state you enter to our server and SAM.gov to retrieve public federal notices. Do not enter confidential information into search fields.
  • Technical information: hosting and service providers may process IP addresses, request URLs, device/browser information, timestamps, errors and security logs. Links may include resource choices or campaign tags. If you email us, we receive your message and contact details.

Why we use information

We use information to open requested resources, retrieve bid matches, send updates and invitations you choose, answer messages, keep services secure, manage access and meet legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, we rely on consent for optional marketing, providing a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site, and applicable legal obligations.

Email choices and engagement

Marketing permission is optional and is not agreement to these policies. If you opt in, MailerLite may send a confirmation email. Confirm your address to receive follow-up resources, practical tips and community or course invitations. You can withdraw marketing permission through the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not remove access to the public free tools.

MailerLite emails may measure opens and link clicks to help us understand delivery and resource interest. Email software can affect these measurements. Blocking remote images can limit open tracking; links may still record clicks. We do not infer purchases from clicks.

Providers and external links

We use Netlify for website hosting and server functions, MailerLite for signup and email delivery, SAM.gov for public federal notices, and Google Fonts to display typefaces. These providers receive information needed for their services; external font requests can include your IP address and browser details. See Netlify privacy information, MailerLite's privacy policy, SAM.gov privacy information and Google's privacy policy.

Community, course, search and agency links may take you to Skool, Stan, Google or an official certifier. Their policies apply after you leave this site. This website does not collect payment-card details; purchases and memberships are handled on the destination platform. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries under their applicable arrangements.

We do not sell our mailing list for money. If you accept optional advertising, information shared with Meta may be considered sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under some privacy laws. You can reject advertising, withdraw permission through Privacy choices, or use a supported Global Privacy Control signal to keep that sharing off. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and security, or to service providers that help operate the site.

Cookies, browser storage and tracking choices

  • Member access: a secure, HttpOnly access cookie called wcl_govcon_member lasts up to seven days and lets the member finder recognize approved resource access. Blocking it prevents member access.
  • Resource continuity: session storage keeps your selected trade and state while navigating the resources. Closing the browsing session normally clears it; you can also clear site data in your browser.
  • Advertising choice: the wcl_privacy_choice cookie remembers your accept or reject choice for up to 180 days. On our branded main domain and start subdomain, the choice is shared so you do not need to repeat it. It does not subscribe you to email.
  • Optional advertising: where configured, Meta Pixel load only after you accept advertising. They can share IP address, browser/device details, page URL and general resource-interest or community-link events with Meta for measurement and retargeting. We do not send form names, email addresses, questionnaire answers, bid search text, access-link values or payment information as event parameters. Pixels are not loaded on the signup form, certification questionnaire or member-access page.
  • Privacy signals: a supported Global Privacy Control signal keeps optional advertising off. Other Do Not Track signals do not change site behavior. External platforms and email engagement have their own settings.

You can control cookies, site storage and remote email images in your browser or email app. Essential access and privacy-preference storage support the choices you request. Use the control to accept or reject advertising at any time. Rejection preserves free tools and email preferences. Withdrawing permission stops future optional tracking; it cannot recall data already received by a platform. Learn more in our Cookie Policy, Meta Privacy Policy.

Retention and security

We keep subscriber information while managing your chosen subscription and related services. After an unsubscribe or deletion request, some records may remain as needed to honor suppression preferences, resolve issues, comply with legal obligations or complete provider backup cycles. Technical and security logs follow the relevant provider's retention practices. We review the need to retain information rather than promise one period for every record.

We use HTTPS and access controls to protect information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. Never share your member resource link publicly or send sensitive application documents through a search box.

Your privacy requests

Email hello@womeninconstructionlab.com to request access, correction or deletion, or ask about information handling. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, appeal or complaint to a privacy regulator. We will verify requests as appropriate and respond under applicable law. Some information may need to be retained for legal or suppression purposes. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Audience and changes

These resources are intended for adult business owners and professionals, not children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.

We will post policy changes here with an updated date and provide additional notice or request permission when required. A policy update does not itself opt you into marketing.
